Read it in the Newspaper – Marriage of Theodore Wierzba and Martha Milanowski (1927)
Hello,
I would like to start a new series of posts called “Read it in the Newspapers”. I will try to post one transcribed article taken from a newspaper and about my ancestors every week. The article below is the wedding announcement of my Grand Uncle Ted Wierzba, from the Stevens Point Daily Journal.
Miss Martha Milanowski, daughter of Mrs. Frances Milanowski, was united in marriage to Theodore Wisba [note: Wierzba], son of Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Wisba [note: Wierzba], all of Custer, Tuesday morning, at the Sacred Heart church at Polonia, by Rev. S. Zielowski. The bride wore a gown of satin-faced canton crepe trimmed with rhinestones, with a veil, and she carried a shower bouquet of white roses. She had three attendants, Miss Genevieve Milanowski, who wore orchid georgette and carried an arm bouquet of pink carnations; Miss Agnes Wisba [note: Wierzba] who was dressed in blue georgette and carried white carnations; and Miss Mattie Sommers in pink georgette carrying pink carnations. Virginia Milanowski wearing light green crepe de chine carried a lily in which the rings were placed. The groom’s three attendants were John Grzywacz, Henry Milanowski, and Leo Wisba [note: Wierzba]. A reception at the home of bride’s parents followed the ceremony.
