Military Monday – Martin Wierzba WWI Draft Registration (Portage County, WI)
Hello,
I’d like to continue my participation in the Geneabloggers daily prompt for Monday, called “Military Monday“. I am posting the WWI Draft Registration card of my great-grand uncle Martin Wierzba, who was the brother of my great-grandfather Vincent Wierzba.
He registered on September 12, 1918 at the Portage County Registration Office, which was located in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. He was aged 35 years old, during his registration. Martin listed his birth date as August 10, 1883. Martin lived with his wife and children, on his farmstead, at Route 2, D #2, Amherst, Wisconsin. Martin listed his occupation as “farmer”, working on the family farmstead that he owned, at Route 2, D #2, Amherst, Wisconsin. Martin listed his wife, Josephine Wierzba, who also lived at Route 2, D #2, Amherst, Wisconsin, as his nearest relative.
