Marriage of Ignacy Tobiasz and Zofia Karpik (1846)

This is my translation of the Polish language marriage record of my 3x great-grandparents Ignacy Tobiasz and Zofia Karpik, from the Bądkowo Parish. Any errors are completely my own.

Bądkowo No 6 1846

This happened in village of Bądkowo on the 1st of June, 1846, at 10 a.m. We declare in the presence of Wincenty Szkołuda, a farmer, aged 45, and Michał Winchowski, a laborer, aged 60, both residents of Bądkowo, that on this day a religious marital union was contracted between:

Ignacy Tobiasz, a young man, son of Stanisław Tobiasz who resides in Krotoszyn as a farmhand and his deceased wife Agnieszka Buszka who died in Krotoszyn. Ignacy was born in the village of Góra, Kingdom of Prussia, a farmhand, aged 25, and a resident of Gawronki,

and Zofia Karpik, a young woman, daughter of Maciej Karpik, a horseman who resides in Bądkowo, and his deceased wife Agnieszka Wisniewska. Zofia was born in Łowiczek and now resides in Bądkowo, aged 24.

The wedding was preceded by three readings of the banns on the 17th, 24th, and 31st of May, 1846, with the consent of the brides father. No impediments arose and the newlyweds stated that they had made no prenuptial agreement between them.

This document was read aloud to the declarants and witnesses and signed by us who can write, because those appearing and the witnesses mentioned in this document cannot write.
