Marriage of Jakub Sobucki and Marianna Deręgowska (1817)

This is my translation of the Polish language marriage record of Jakub Sobucki and Marianna Deręgowska, from the Bytoń Parish. Any errors are completely my own.

Trojaczek, 1817, No. 1,

This happened on October 12th, 1817, at 12 p.m., before Us, the Administrator and Civil Registrar of Bytoń, performing the duties of the Registrar of Vital Records for the District of Bytoń, Brześć County, Mazowieckie Province:

Jakub Sobucki, aged 20, single, from the village of Bytoń – according to a certificate excerpted from the books of the Bytoń Parish.

Marianna Deręgowska, aged 21, single, from the village of Trojaczek- according to a certificate excerpted from the books of the Piotrków Parish.

The parties who appeared request that we proceed with the celebration of the wedding they have arranged between them, the announcement of which was published before the main doors of our District Court, that is: first on the 21st of September, and the second on the 28th of September, 1817. When we were not informed of any obstacles to the aforementioned marriage, and the parents here in attendance hereby consent, acquiescing to the aforementioned request, after reading to the parties and witnesses all the aforementioned papers and Section Six of the Civil Code regarding marriage, we asked the future husband and future wife whether they wished to join with each other in marital union, and when each of them responded separately that such is their wish, we proclaim in the name of the law that Jakub Sobucki and Marianna Deręgowska are joined in the bonds of matrimony.

Of which we recorded this record in the presence of: Paweł Cybulski, aged 42, a boarder at the Świesz inn; Wawrzyniec Stramiński, aged 50, a mason, from Świesz; Andrzej Majewski, aged 49, a blacksmith, from Bytoń; and Stanisław Małecki, aged 40, from Trojaczek. This document was read aloud to the declarants and witnesses and signed by Us who can write, because those appearing and the witnesses mentioned in this document cannot write.
