Sunday’s Obituary – Ernest F. Wierzba (1988)

I would like to participate in Sunday’s daily blogging theme called, "Sunday’s Obituary". Below, I have transcribed the obituary of Ernest F. Wierzba (my 1st cousin 2x removed). The obituary was listed in the Stevens Point Journal on Friday, April 15, 1988. The obituary is as follows:
Ernest F. Wierzba
Ernest F. Wierzba, 76, 306 Ridgewood Circle, Plover, died Thursday afternoon at St. Michael’s Hospital following a short illness.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Fancher with Rev. Robert Pedretti officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Sunday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel. St. Mary’s Holy Name Society, of which he was a member, will combine with the general rosary at 8 p.m. Sunday. A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society.
Mr. Wierzba was born Jan. 5, 1912, in the town of Stockton, a son of the late Martin and Josephine Wierzba. He was married to the former Esther Ropella on July 9, 1934, at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church in Fancher. She survives.
After their marriage they farmed in the town of Stockton until retirement in 1977. They moved to their Plover address in 1985.
Survivors include two daughters, Joann (David) Shultz, 509 Indiana Ave., and Karen (Jerry) Studzinski, Milwaukee; six grandchildren and one great-grandson; two sisters, Mrs. Theresa Trzebiatowski, Milwaukee, and Sister Regine, St. Joseph’s Convent; and one brother, Frank, town of Stockton.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, four sisters and one brother.
