Pawel Kobs 1847 – ?

Within the past few months, I have been extremely lucky with tracing back my Kobs ancestry. With the help of family history I have been able to piece together a family line going back to to the arrival of Pawel Kobs in 1872. My Kobs line looks like this: Eunice-> Louis-> Frank-> Pawel.

Besides my direct line, I was able to find many brothers and sisters of each generation. Finding the other Kobs relations helped to trace them back to Zlotow, Wielkopolskie, Poland. Again I was able to extend my Kobs line, this time by two more generations, Pawel-> Andrzej-> Joannes.

As my Kobs ancestry has expanded, I have been trying to use any resources available to help fill in information and to verify all the data I find. Like with all researchers and family trees, this can be a very daunting task. With that being said, one piece of information has eluded me thus far and is “sticking in my craw”. I have yet to find Pawel Kobs death date.

I have looked through Wisconsin Genealogy Index, ancestry.com, Milwaukee Catholic Burial Records, Obituary Indexes, …

Pawel is listed on the 1910 US Census but not the 1920 US Census, so he passed away in between 1910-1920. My plan is to search the Milwaukee City Directories 1911-1920 to determine the year that he died. Once I determine his approximate death year, I will search the Milwaukee Journal and Sentinel for his obituary.

If anyone has any ideas for a quicker resolution to my question, please let me know.
