Peter Eickendorf
Peter Eickendorf, aged 72, an early day resident of Stevens Point, died at 5:20 o’clock this morning at his home at 310 Fredrick Street, where he had lived for nearly 50 years. He had been in poor health for several years and during the past four weeks had been confined to bed.
Mr. Eickendorf was born on April 3, 1859 in Germany. He was three years ond when he was brought to this country by his parents, who came directly to the town of Sharon and remained there the rest of their lives. Mr. Eickendorf lived at home until his marriage nearly 50 years ago, to Katherine Lemanczyk of Stevens Point. They located in this city and had lived here continuously since. Mr. Eickendorf at one time was employed in the early sawmills of Stevens Point.
Surviving are his widow, two sons and one daughter, all of whom were at his bedside when he passed away. They are Joseph Eickendorf, 404 Fredrick St. Andrew Eickendorf of Wyandotte, Mich., and Mrs. Casimer Noruk of Chicago, Ill. Mr. Eickendorf also leaves six grandchildren, one brother, Andrew Eickendorf of Plover, and four sisters, Mrs. Josephine Gavin of Plover, Mrs. Anton Mallek of Ashland and Mrs. Joseph Sominka and Mrs. Augusta Ososki of Wyandotte, Mich.
The funeral will be held at 9 o’clock Friday morning at St. Peter’s church and interment will take place in Guardian Angel cemetery. The body will be at the home until the time of the funeral.
