Marriage of Jakob Cieslakiewicz and Elzbieta Nowak (1856)
Hello,
This is my translation of the Polish language marriage record of Jakób Cieślakiewicz and Ełżbieta Nowak, from the Straszewo parish. Any errors are completely my own.
Zakrzewo, No. 1, 1856
This happened in the village of Straszewo on the 14th of January, 1856, at 10 a.m. We declare in the presence of Wawrzyniec Cieślakiewicz, aged 60, a farmer owner residing in Zakrzewo and uncle of the groom, and Jakób Trojanowski, aged 63, a farm owner residing in Starszewo, that on this day a religious marital union was contracted between:
Jakób Cieślakiewicz, aged 27, single, Catholic, born and residing in Zakrzewo, the son of Walenty – a farm owner residing in Zakrzewo – and Katarzyna Cieślakiewicz nee Więckowska,
and Ełżbieta Nowak, aged 18, single, Catholic, residing in Zakrzewo, born in Bodzanowo, the daughter of Jan – a laborer – and Justyna Nowak nee Kobusak (misspelled surname, should be Robaszek) who reside in Zakrzewo.
Three announcements preceded this marriage. The banns were read, at the Straszewo Parish church on the 30th of December, 1855, the 8th and 15th of January, 1856. No impediments arose and the families gave their approvals. The newlyweds stated that they had made no prenuptial agreement between them. This document, after being read aloud to the witnesses and the newlyweds, was signed by the presiding pastor.
Rev. Jakób Kolęda, Pastor of the Straszewo Parish and Civil Registrar.
