Milwaukee’s Polish Churches – St. Stanislaus
Hello,
This past weekend, my brother and I took pictures of the Polish churches on both the Southside and Riverwest areas of Milwaukee. We were not able to take pictures of the inside because the churches were not open at the time. The pictures below are of St. Stanislaus Parish:
St.Stanislaus is located at 524 W Mitchell St, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This is still an active parish and more information about church services can be found on the Archdiocese of Milwaukee website: http://www.archmil.org/parishes/ShowParish.asp?ID=203
Most of the earliest Polish and Kashubian families that arrived in Milwaukee that settled on the Southside attended St. Stanislaus. Many of my Wierzba, Kobs, and Machajewski ancestors attended St. Stanislaus from its inception. More on the history of St. Stanislaus can be found at the following web site: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Stanislaus_Catholic_Church_(Milwaukee,_Wisconsin)
I am planning on going back and taking more pictures of the outside, hopefully I can get a better angle to capture the whole church in one picture. I am also planning on attending mass there and taking a few pictures of the inside too. I have never been inside this church and I am looking forward to seeing it.
Best Regards,
Al
